It’s is that time of the year when children are excited to join back school. They look forward to the new books, new teachers, new classmates and they start the year with lot of determination to do well in school academically. It is also that time of the year when parents decide the best after school classes they put their children into, to help them succeed in their goals.
Over the last 2 years, Seriously Addictive Maths have been successfully transforming lives of children in India and helping them with their dreams of academic excellence. Last year itself, more than 10 children from our centers in India went on to win medals in global math competitions. We have also noticed significant improvement in performance of children at school (not only in maths but other subjects as well) after joining S.A.M.
Meghana and Her Achievement
Meghana is currently studying in grade 4 at Euroshcool, Bangalore. She stood 1st in her school and was ranked 2nd at the National Level in the recently concluded International Math Olympiad organized by Science Olympiad Foundation.
She is enthusiastic towards studies and also like reading story books. Apart from studies, she is good in athletics and tennis.

She is very elated with her achievement and attributed the results to all the hard work she put in solving SAM worksheets and previous year papers of IMO. So what are the ways on how parents can expose their kids in math and apply it in real world?
At least once a month, you and your child go to the grocery store, right? Teach your child Math while you are in the grocery store. It would definitely require a person who is shopping the knowledge and skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, estimation and even percentages and discounts. Let your child choose his own snacks he wants to buy and let him compute the total amount or estimate the total amount of the snacks. By doing this, he understands more the concept of addition and multiplication by calculating all the snacks and realizes the importance of it.
The general guideline is to expose children to the world of numbers at around 4 years of age, but in a creative and fun way. The Seriously Addictive Mathematics (S.A.M.)center adopts a holistic approach to learning mathematics. From the way the trainers engage students in the class, to the way questions are phrased and how solutions are presented in their worksheets. By the end of our program, S.A.M students will be well equipped with an array of skills to confidently embrace future challenges in the world of numbers. These skills are critical thinking, heuristics, logical reasoning, metacognitive understanding, solving word problems with modelling techniques are fostered.
